Our Emergency Shelter Program Provides... ...immediate emergency housing for victims of domestic violence and their children who qualify. Clients find housing in a six-bedroom home supervised by staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are many times when domestic violence sufferers call and are given shelter within minutes. The shelter, Our Sister’s House, provides every need for victims of domestic violence while encouraging and fostering expectations of total life improvement in order to stop the cycles of abuse. The shelter is truly a home-setting with a rich diversity of provision for victims of domestic violence. Merry Whyte has been supervising and supporting the FAS shelter and crisis line for 5 years now with tremendous tenacity in service and a profoundly understanding approach to the realities of the victims of domestic violence. Merry’s tireless efforts make the shelter and the outreach to victims a truly personal and encouraging experience.
